Community Tidbits: Senior expo, food drive and more

 senior health fair will be held in the upper Kanawha Valley, and a West Side food drive aims to help local neighbors this holiday season. Here’s the 411 from communities around the region, including Montgomery, Charleston and St. Albans.

Senior Fair: Local senior citizens are invited to the upper Kanawha Valley for a senior health fair. The wellness event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 5) at Montgomery General Hospital, located at 401 Sixth Avenue in Montgomery. The expo will include information from several local vendors. More information on the Senior Health Fair is available online or by emailing seniorexpo@mghwv.org.

Food Drive: Several businesses in Charleston’s Elk City district are sponsoring a community food drive. Retailers in the West Side district will collect non-perishable goods through Saturday, Nov. 22. All items collected will be sent to area food banks in time for the holiday season. More information on the food drive is available on Facebook.

Christmas Concert: A St. Albans church is hosting a national Christian musician in time for the holidays. Gateway Church, located at 422 B St. in St. Albans, will serve as one of the stops on musician Jason Crabb’s “The Miracle in the Manger” Christmas tour. The concert is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Tickets start at $26 per person and can be purchased online or at Gateway’s St. Albans campus between 10 a.m. and noon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
