Doug Skaff, local businessman and former lawmaker, dead at 48
The South Charleston resident died Tuesday in a vehicle accident in Lewis County, according to reports.

ormer West Virginia delegate and well known Kanawha Valley businessman Doug Skaff, Jr. has died, according to multiple sources. He was 48 years old.
Skaff died in a wreck along I-79 in Lewis County on Tuesday, according to a report on the Charleston Gazette-Mail website. Skaff was president of HD Media, the parent company of the Gazette-Mail and other regional newspapers.
Skaff previously served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2008 to 2014, then again from 2018 to 2023. He was the Minority Leader of the West Virginia House of Delegates from November 2020 to August 2023.
He leaves behind a wife and three children, all residents of South Charleston.
