A
driver was critically injured during an two-vehicle accident on Saturday morning, according to officials.
The Pinch Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Big Chimney Bridge and Pennsylvania Avenue, in front of Hardee's, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on June 14.
"One vehicle was found overturned on its side with the driver entrapped," Justin Withrow, Pinch VFD's public information officer, said in a statement.
Fire crews used specialized tools to extract the driver.
The driver sustained critical injuries, Withrow said, and was treated before being transported to a local hospital.
The occupants of the second vehicle were evaluated and released on scene.
The Big Chimney Bridge was shut down for several hours during the incident. The roadway has since been reopened.
