Marmet Municipal candidate meet and greet to be held next week

The event will take place on Tuesday, May 20, at the Marmet Recreation Center.

unicipal elections will be held in Marmet on June 10, 2025. Residents will be able to meet the candidates in an upcoming event.

On Tuesday, May 20, a candidate meet and greet will be held at the Marmet Recreation Center, 8505 Maccorkle Ave. in Marmet. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

A dozen candidates are vying for seven seats within the town government, including the positions of mayor, town council and town recorder.

Current council member Frances Armentrout will face off against current Mayor David Fontalbert for the position of mayor.

Nine contenders are running for the five available seats on the town council. Council candidates include Terry Barley, Becca Bass, Michelle Lyttle, Michael McGhee, Matthew Morgan, Debbie Skeens, Dee Snodgrass, Becky Stone, and Chance Walker.

Teresa Long is running unopposed for the position of Town Recorder.

In-person elections will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Absentee ballot applications can be picked up at Town Hall. Residents may call 304-949-2241 to have a ballot mailed.
