‘Miles for Minds’ cycling event to raise funds for CAMC Neurosciences

The family-friendly fundraiser event will take place on Saturday, May 24.

T

he USA Cycling Pro Road National Championship, scheduled for May 19-26 in Charleston, is expected to bring hundreds of cycling athletes to West Virginia’s capital city. But you don’t have to be a professional cyclist to participate, thanks to a CAMC Foundation fundraiser.

“Miles for Minds,” a family-friendly fundraiser event, will take place on Saturday, May 24. Participants will have a chance to cycle along the same four-mile route as the pros.

“This is a non-timed, 4-mile bicycle route that will begin and finish at the USA Cycling Pro Road National Championship start line on Kanawha Boulevard,” organizers noted in an event announcement.

The route runs from Haddad Riverfront Park to the Capitol Complex, back to Brooks Street, along Quarrier Street to Summers Street, through two blocks of Lee Street East to Court Street, along a small section of Virginia Street East to Truslow Street, and finishing along the Kanawha Boulevard.

Registration for the event begins at 4:30 p.m. on May 24 in the City of Charleston Parking Garage, First Floor, 503 Virginia Street East. The course ride will begin at approximately 5 p.m.

Participation in the Miles for Minds event costs $20 per bike, or $75 for four entrants. Proceeds benefit CAMC Neurosciences. A registration form is available on the CAMC Foundation’s website.
