Mountaineer Food Bank to hold free mobile distribution in Elkview

The nonprofit will hold a distribution event on July 23, 2024

he Mountaineer Food Bank's Mobile Pantry will hold a free food distribution event in Elkview on July 23, 2024.

The nonprofit food agency, headquartered in Braxton County, distributes over 17 million meals per year in 48 of the state's 55 counties, according to information on their website.

Tuesday's stop in Kanawha County is one of eight mobile distributions to be held throughout the state this week. Other stops in southern West Virginia in the coming days will include locations in Raleigh and Clay counties. Distributions will also be held in Morgan, Berkeley, Tyler, Hancock and Upshur counties.

The July 23 mobile distribution in Elkview will held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Elkview Baptist Church, 150 Main St. It is free and open to the public.

"Mobile Pantries can provide a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and baked goods to people in need," Mountaineer Food Bank notes on their website.

The next mobile food distribution in Kanawha County is scheduled to be held at Belle Church of the Nazarene, 306 East Ninth St. in Belle, on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024.
